Explanation

The comparison (above) of current monthly residential charges for electricity was performed as of March 2016.

In each case, an expert calculated for us the pre-tax total monthly bill. We show what a residential customer would pay.

The total monthly dollar amount that we show combines the monthly per-customer charge and the monthly usage charges. We used rates in effect for March 2016 as posted by each respective utility.

This comparison offers two sets of comparisons for residential electric customers on Bainbridge: (a) an average home using 1,150 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electric energy for the month, and (b) a larger home using 1,500 kWh.

Conclusion РPSE Rates are Higher than Nearly All Public Utilities

For homes using about 1,150 kWh, the PSE monthly bill is higher than all but 3 of the 28 public utilities we compared.

For homes using about 1,500 kWh, the PSE monthly bill is higher than all but 1 of the 28 public utilities we compared.
